Welcome to my blog!
These articles are aimed to journal and share how I meet my yearning to connect with nature in a digital world. Yes, I see the irony in recording this in online format. But I'm also pragmatic about the fact that we live with technology and it has its own benefits.
As part of my exploration, I have come to train as a Forest Therapy Practitioner. I would love to hear from anyone who would like support to connect with nature. I'll help if I can, and although I would love to make nature a part of my income if the chance arises, I am determined that affordability won't be a barrier, so no hard sell here.
In a world that is increasingly dominated by technology and constant connectivity, taking the time to unplug and unwind in nature has never been more important. Spending time in nature has been shown to lower blood pressure, reduce cortisol levels, and boost immune function. Additionally, the peaceful surroundings of the forest can help calm the mind and improve cognitive function.
That said, for most of us, there are challenges, whether having a desk-based job, living in an urban environment, or just a lack of time. I'm trying to find ways to meet those challenges, and I am here to share, or make friends, with anyone who shares my interest.
Finally - did you know that even looking at an image of nature can provide some of the wellbeing benefits of actually being in nature? Here is a photo of one of my favourite wild camping spots. I keep it in my car to look at - not while driving of course!
What images could you use to make the most of a mindful 5 minutes?
